AMD can 2X Your FPS in ANY GAME… but better now ;) – AFMF 2 Analyzed
Preview driver for AFMF 2- ONLY works on RX 6000 & 7000 GPUs (if you’re interested):
Lossless Scaling Frame Generation (if you’re interested, lol):
They made some much needed improvements to the feature like: reduced latency, addition of performance modes, new search modes, MOVING IN THE GAME DOESN’T TURN THE DAM THING OFFF, compatibility with Radeon Chill, support for OpenGL and Vulkan, and MORE TO COVER! It’s hype. HOWEVER, can AFMF 2 win out against Lossless Scaling Frame Generation, which impressively does a very similar thing??? I tested and analyzed a TON in this video. LES GET IT!

have you tried using intel presentmon to check the latency while using AFMF 1/2?
I wish more people realized you can use multiple gpu’s in both LSFG and AFMF2 to offload the work of generating frames from the main gpu. (I’ve tested this with CPU’s that have integrated GPUs).
It will also work with 2 dedicated gpus’s. The one doing frame generation needs to be connected to the monitor displaying the game while the one rendering the whole game (the fastest gpu) can just sit there without any monitors hooked into it (or just the secondary monitors).
"choppy" and "60fps" damn
Just copped Lossless Scaling. Should I turn off AFMF?
Bro fk all this, I just use lossless scaling upscaling from 1080 to 1440 on my 6700 with the lsfg feature on running on my integrated gpu and it works pretty well
I wish people actually understood what LSFG does before they speak about it with such high praise. It also costs $7 and is a steam product its not offline its not a software i can take anywhere.
It still tears and turns off. We're gonna need 3 more iterations of this for it to be "perfected". And with this update they proved that they can get it done eventually.
before i was thinking to buy rtx for a dlss to fsr mod and after afmf2 i will buy amd 😂
weird how amd only lets people who have certain cards use this feature. Why not let everyone use it? ive got a old gpu, would be nice to have it so i can boost performance.
im using lossless scaling even now while watching this video. its a must purchase for budget ballers to play AAA games
Lossles scaling is fsr 3 source code take from someone and sell it,dont tell me individual make a FG for all gpu, it is hard for companys to do it, if you dont care is other thing..
I think ai upscaling is better but this looks fine for single player games
Afmf2 is good, But I've seen videos where the fps drops all the way down to 45fps than it magically jumps to 100fps+ on a rx 7900xtx on assassin's creed.
If you wanna sell me a feature i want 100fps at all times and no heavy dips like that, Amd you gots updating to do before you got me.
I'm turning off upscaling in the game, horizon forbidden west atm, and using the two readeon chill settings at '(monitor refresh / 2) – 1', in my case 71 as monitor refresh is 144, 4k 3840 * 2160, 32 inch monitor, 7900xt, 7800x3g, absolutely smooth as silk, afterburner reports 71 fps, adrenaline overlay 142 and does not change.
Same in CS2.
…. and no one mentions using these settings (fixed fps), your gpu power drops, temp drops, fans slow and quieter. 9.75/10 weel played AMD.
I have a humble 6500XT (enough for what I do) and I have also Lossless Scaling which I bought to try with my previous GPU (which is old AF, that's why I wanted more frames)… And while I don't do side by side comparisons like you do here, what I like about AFMF is the ease of use. I haven't been bothered by artifacts at least in the games I play – which did happen to me in NieR: Automata with LS, it artifacts A LOT there while running, on the legs and anything that's moving fast, and I don't mean details, I mean absolute deformation of 2B's legs, constantly, then again this could be because the old GPU wasn't that capable) – However, when you're "in the zone" and with a budget GPU, more frames usually do feel better and having to open third party software on top of capping either with RTSS or Radeon Chill is more work. I haven't really tried AFMF2 yet, but AFMF works well enough for me with a lot less fiddling than I have to do with LS. Alt+R, turn on, check if I like it. If I don't, Alt+R, turn off, keep playing. I did watch your LS video when I bought LS… If you want to just play and feel a smoother experience (I'm on an overclocked to 75hz old 1080p panel), AFMF is a lot faster to use and, so far, it hasn't disturbed me at all. I have yet to try LS on a crappy laptop I have to run older or less demanding indie games to see how it does.
great job man. I really like your content. Sweden approved 🙂
23:31, a game theory?
even 1st AFMF was great but only with really high base fps, i used it with 280hz screen and round that fps or even higher tearing or fps drops when turning etc where no problem.. I would never use it without high base fps, its not worth it.
your wrong about lossless scaling, it doesnt have to be direct x, it works on anything, literally anything
LSFG is so good… i'm playing cyberpunk 2077 @ 720p/36fps with LS scaling +FGx3 on my old 980 ti + ryzen7 1700 and i just can't believe how good it looks on a 1440p 144hz display and the gpu doesn't even get that hot.
Rip DLSS
JUST try LSFG and afm2 on warzone for example and you wont even play 2 min using LSFG
Using 7800xt without frame cap
Did you say you couldn't feel hardly any difference in latency between AFMF 1 and AFMF 2? Wow that is the first thing I noticed when i used it in fallout London the 2nd thing was it no longer seemed to hardly cut out and 3rd was it looks way better. vids on my channle actually like 170 to 200 fps in Fallout London. it's epic. Only game i used it in so far but cannot wait and especuially cannot wait for it to work it's way on to my ROG Ally. Because the less latency will really help it on that thing.
Is it true borderless fullscreen mode only works on 7000 series and 700 series APU's like ROG ally? It said something like that on AMD's site sure that would change by launch because why would it not work on 6800 etc. But it will be a god send on ROG Ally because I can hardly get AFMF to work on that because of the fussy display settings it needs., I set it fullscreen with V sync off and it still won't work. On ROG ALLY. I mean AFMF1 on Rog ally.
It's the technical preview this is not final.
im curious to see how much it improves, it will certainly come in handy with all of the unoptimized games that the devs are throwing our way. lol
24:29 it actually can work very good with 40 fps and that's what i tested and what developer say about lsfg , it is not like regular fg which is very bad if you do it at this lvl of fps
more frames… and more ghosting/ tearing thanks AMD!
why did u not use lossless scaling 2.2.1???
its been out for a couple of days 🤔
I heard that if you cap your fps , 2 fps lower than your Monitor refresh rate, it basically makes it impossible to turn off AFMF.. Didn't try it tho
samuel jackson loves this shit MFer
It would be awesome if AMD integrated this to leverage the NPU on the next major update.
As an rtx user I couldn't care less. But as an msi claw owner , 😭.
can they theoretically do 1.5x ? or even 1.2x? intead of 2x?
Does it works on low end card? I have rx 560
Still using LSFG 2.1. AFMF 2 is nice when it works.
Try to do a 2 frames below than the screen's maximum refresh rate to get better look and smoother performance with afmf2
what is with the offical and promised fsr 3 release for cyberpunk 2077… I have been waiting for it a year…. its pissed me off…
I don’t know people don’t just buy a smart TVs and just turn on frame interpolation there. The lag is just as shit.
Who would win? One guy from an invaded country, or a billion dollar company? The answer might surprise you xD.
I'm not a fan of any frame generation, I prefer my pc can just do the job lol
Dedicated time to talking about fps in a video game. God the world has lost its way.
I hope this comes natively to wuthering waves
I can't wait to doubt my FPS on the Ryzen 4070
It's lossless scaling basically
But vex you forgot that afmf 2 have wayyyyyy lesser latency
In my opinion, AFMF (2) is still not really usable. It just doesnt feel like "double the fps" but more like the artifact mess you can see in this video. Lossless Scaling just does ist so much better. It feels fluend and is just looking good.
at @9:20 and so on, how do you have 2 instances of the same gameplay but claim to have 1 or 2 enabled…
AFMF 2 option dont show on adrenaline for
6700XT
